Coaching Professional

This 15-month training programme is designed for current or aspiring coaches who provide one-to-one coaching in a professional environment. This is aimed at individuals who are coaching alongside their day job in roles such as a people and project management, center of excellence, specialist or advisory services. BPP, in partnership with Grant Thornton, is excited to offer this Coaching Professional Apprenticeship. Entry requirements To be eligible you must fulfil the following criteria:

  1. Must be in a role where your job grade is 20 or above
  2. You must be employed in a role relevant to this programme to be eligible to apply
  3. Your current role should be UK based and you must have lived here for at least three years
  4. The programme must address development needs in your current role
  5. Your line manager must be able to support you throughout the programme

What will you learn?

  • How to plan, conduct and record coaching needs
  • How to agree and develop coaching contracts with all relevant parties
  • How to deliver effective and responsive coaching sessions
  • Selection and use of a suitable variety of coaching tools and techniques and/or psychometrics
  • Methods to provide support for those receiving coaching in the definition and delivery of valid goals
  • Design of coaching interventions
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of coaching interactions
  • How to maintain records of coaching practice

How is your programme structured?

This 12-month programme consists of four modules, then an additional three months spent preparing and completing EPA.

End Point Assessment

Once you have completed all of the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours, you will complete an End Point Assessment. This is conducted by an external assessment organisation and will be graded as either a pass, fail, or distinction.

How we support you

  • You will be taught by expert tutors who have practical experience in the fields in which they teach and a passion to share that knowledge to maximise your career potential
  • You will have access to a Coach who is on hand to guide you through each stage of your learning journey, providing you with clear aims and objectives. They will keep in regular contact with you and instil the confidence that you can achieve
  • You will also attend webinars to develop skills in a variety of areas and prepare you for the end point assessment.
  • You will have access to an Online Learning Environment with all of your qualification content, additional learning resources and all the step-by-step support you need to ensure your success

Commitment from you

During this programme, six hours a week will be spent on learning and developing the required Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours. This development time will include learning new relevant tasks in your role, embedding your knowledge in your role, practical workplace training, spending development time with your Line Manager, attending online or face-to-face courses and time spent writing assignments/assessments or directed self-study hours:
  • Evidencing the application of your knowledge within your working day
  • Independent study and research
  • Shadowing colleagues and mentoring
  • Technical training

Progression upon completion

Additional industry-recognised accreditations On completion of the programme, you will be eligible to apply for recognised statuses with the three biggest professional coaching bodies:
  • EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council) Global Individual Accreditation (EIA)
  • The Association for Coaching Coach Accreditation
  • The International Coach Federation Member
