Apprenticeship overview
This programme provides the hands-on skills to implement technical and procedural controls to monitor, detect, and respond to cyber security threats, maintaining digital data integrity and confidentiality.
The programme has been designed to cover all three pathways included in the apprenticeship standard: Security Engineer, Risk Analyst or Defend and Respond. You’ll build your knowledge across cyber risk analysis, incident response, and understand how to create a security-aware culture within your organisation.
This programme is delivered by Firebrand Training, sister company of BPP, as part of this programme you will have the opportunity attend courses either virtually or onsite at our Wyboston Facility
Who’s eligible?
- Employed in a relevant role
- Three A-Levels (or equivalent) OR significant work experience
Targeted Skills
- Network security fundamentals, including building and securing networks against internal and external threats.
- Cryptography application, such as implementing encryption methods within systems and network processes.
- Threat analysis and risk assessment, developing the ability to identify vulnerabilities and evaluate cyber risks.
- Understanding of cyber security theory, law, and compliance, covering procedural and theoretical knowledge essential for secure operations.
- Use of security tools and techniques, including deploying network tools and creating security cases to protect against attacks.
